Central HOSA Spring Leadership Conference

From Mrs. Parrott, CHS HOSA Sponsor:

On Friday we took a group of students to compete in the Region 6 HOSA Spring Leadership Conference in Tomball.  We are extremely proud of all students who participated as this is only our 2nd year in HOSA and our 1st year attending the Spring Leadership Conference.

Our Biomedical debate team consisted of Alana Skelton, Bailey Cheshire, and Giselle Jaime. All students on the team were required to take a test in the Fall and depending on the results could advance to the debate process at Spring Conference. Our girls did great and placed 4th on the testing part which allowed them to advance. The debate started Friday at 6 and did not finish until after 10 on Friday. The topic of debate was "Medical Errors Should be Considered Criminal Offenses". They competed against teams from Grand Oaks H.S., Klein H.S., Woodlands H.S., Academy for Science and Health Profession H.S., and Kingwood H.S.. They all worked very hard to prepare for their debate and it definitely showed because they placed 4th overall for the debate, only missing going to state by one place.

The Public Service Announcement team consisted of Hailei Fontenot, Carson McDaniel,Rachel Modisette,Vanessa Sanchez,Grace VanHoose,Lexi Whisenant. These students also worked very hard at making a video about "How to talk to Friends and Family about Mental Health".  They  had to present how they came up with the idea about the video and about the process of making their video.  Although the team did not place, please be sure to congratulate them on a job well done at representing our Central HOSA chapter and all the hard work they put in to prepare for the competition.
